What to Eat ?
Hello ,
I am 15, ride motocross and want to know what a good, healthy breakfast would be
like on regular days going to school (so no riding) and on practice/race days.
I've always eaten cereals and milk but I don' t think it's the healthiest choice
to take just that.
thanks for you time,
Alex
from Sheila Niday:
Alex,
Cereal is fine for breakfast as long as
it is low sugar and high in fiber, which means you should be looking for
whole grain cereals. Frosted Mini Wheat, for example, has no fat, 6 grams
of dietary fiber and 12 grams of sugar. Add the skimmest milk you can drink
and you are in business. Including fruit in or with the cereal is going to
make it that much better. Oatmeal, including the instant kinds, has 3-6
grams of fiber and almost no fat. Yogurt is another option, but you have to
be choosey about which one you purchase. Most yogurt is very high in sugar
and it isn't easy to find ones low in sugar. In fact, we eat the high sugar
kind at our house due to the fact that no one enjoys the more natural
yogurt. The main goal is to go as low sugar and low saturated and trans
fats as possible to be able to perform to the best of your ability. This
will get your day started out right and will help you perform better in
school, believe it or not.
There ya have it ! Thanks
Sheila, this is very helpful information !
